Medicare supplement plan M was crafted as an option to allow Medicare recipients to trade a little more exposure to medical expenses for a lower monthly premium on their coverage.
Nice plan. Poor execution. Not only is plan M not all that enticing, as described in the chart below, but there really is not typically too much of a savings versus other plans such as
Medicare supplement plan G or
Medicare supplement plan N that are a little richer in their coverage.
I wonder if the person who designed this plan was the son or daughter of the creator of BetaMax. I'd like to imagine they at least have an anonymous club they can be a part of to commiserate about the failed launches of their offerings.
