Medicare Advantage Plan vs a Medicare Supplement Plan


GoMedigap has a pretty firm stance on Medicare Advantage plans (also known as Medicare Replacement or Medicare Alternative plans).  Although we have the capability to sell Medicare Advantage plans, and have sold them in the past, we have come to feel that they are not regulated enough for our clients.

As an agency, we understand that we “leave some business on the table”; however, our driving principle is to put our clients in the best possible position and we have come to learn that we would be going against this principle if we were to sell Medicare Advantage plans.

Medicare Advantage plans are privatized Medicare run by for-profit insurance companies.  These insurance companies have been given the ability to make their own claims decisions and some claims decisions have been known to be made with profitability in mind.  See the videos below:
