At GoMedigap, our commitment and involvement in the community is an important part of the way we do business. We are proud to sponsor and support organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels and more.
Meals on Wheels of Williamson County
GoMedigap started volunteering for Meals on Wheels in Round Rock, Texas in 2013. Every week for 5 years, two of our employees take time off work to deliver meals to the elderly in our community. For 6 years, GoMedigap has been the sole financial sponsor for the Christmas Day meal delivery.
Even in the face of federal budget cuts, the Meals on Wheels program in Round Rock is currently serving 60-65 meals a week to seniors who otherwise may not be receiving the nutrition they need. Everyone at GoMedigap is proud to support and participate in a program like Meals on Wheels. The Baca Center
In 2013, GoMedigap began donating, volunteering and participating in events at the Allen R. Baca Center for Senior and Community Activities in Round Rock, Texas. The Baca Center offers educational classes, exercise classes and facilities, and social events for anyone over 50 years old. Previously, we have hosted workshops about the Open Enrollment Period for Medicare Supplement Insurance. We have also participated in their annual Health and Information Fair.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity brings communities and people together to create and sustain home ownership, with a vision where everyone has a decent place to live with hope and dignity. Starting in 2016, GoMedigap has proudly sponsored the build of a house each year for Habitat for Humanity. Employees have also volunteered at the builds each year. In 2017, employees had the opportunity to build the actual frame of the house from start to finish.
Thanksgiving Meal Delivery
During Thanksgiving, GoMedigap employees sponsor meals for First United Methodist Church of Round Rock's Thanksgiving Meal delivery. A few days before Thanksgiving, GoMedigap employees also volunteer to pick up meals and deliver them to homes of those in need in the surrounding area.
