    1. Hi Ms. Strawn,

At GoMedigap, we sell Medicare Supplement Insurance. Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) is private health insurance that helps pay for health expenses (copays, coinsurance and deductibles) that are not covered by Original Medicare. It fills the gaps in Medicare coverage and saves patients from potentially high bills and excess charges.

While Medicare provides good protection for basic health care costs, it does not cover 100% of your medical expenses. After you meet your part B deductible ($183 in 2017), Medicare will pay for 80% of Medicare-approved health care expenses. As the patient, you will be responsible for paying the remaining 20%. A Medicare Supplement Insurance policy covers the 20% gap in Original Medicare coverage, protecting you from the risk of potentially high medical bills.

    1. Hi Ms. Loebs,

Since January 1, 2015, Medicare has covered payment for 3D mammograms, as long as it is performed in conjunction with a 2D digital screening mammogram. Because Medicare supplements cover services that Original Medicare covers, then your Plan N will cover this procedure as will, within plan limits. Because you have a Plan N, you will only be responsible for the Part B deductible ($183 for 2017), Part B excess charges, and possibly some copays.

    1. Hi there,

Yes, Manhattan Life sends ID cards to their policyholders. It can take 2-3 weeks after you sign up for your policy to receive your cards in the mail.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Have a great day!

    1. Hi Ms. Milano,

Once you are approved, you should receive an approval email with your policy number included. You can use this number for any of your medical insurance needs. If you’d like, you can also call your insurance company directly, and they may be able to issue you a temporary ID card via email.

Technically, you likely won’t need to show your Medicare supplement ID card to your doctor. Because Medicare is your primary insurance, your doctor will bill Medicare, then Medicare will bill your supplement. If they do ask to see your supplement ID card, you can show them the temporary ID card once you request it.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Have a great day!

  1. I have been calling your customer service number (800-877-7703 and it is constantly busy.
Do you have another number I can call regarding an existing claim?

    1. Hi Ms. Gilpin,

Manhattan Life has been having phone issues for 2 days. We are unable to get through to them as well.

Manhattan Life is aware of the issue and working on it. I would try again later today or tomorrow. Hopefully the issue will be resolved.

Thank you, and let me know if you need further assistance.
