Medicare Part C, also known as Medicare Advantage (MA), is sold by private insurance companies and offer the equivalent of Medicare Part A and Part B, as well as additional coverage. If you purchase a Medicare Advantage plan, you cannot sign up for (and will not need) Original Medicare and a Medicare Supplement plan. This is because Medicare Advantage plans replace traditional Medicare, and all of your Medicare benefits are received through a private insurance company.
